School Closure

4 January 2021 (by admin)

Dear Parents,
I have just watched the Prime Minister's address where he confirmed that schools are closing with immediate effect. We did NOT receive prior notification of this information. It is particularly frustrating as we could have spent today planning differently if we had known.

I am sure that you will appreciate that along with my team I now need to make provision for children of key workers and vulnerable children and organise staff. School will therefore reopen for these children only on Wednesday 6th January.
I will confirm timings, entrances etc. tomorrow afternoon when I have a better idea of the number of children coming in to school.
Please click on the link below to see if you are eligible to send your child into school.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

If you believe your child is eligible please email head@holtsmereinfants.herts.sch.uk and briefly explain your key worker role. You can also call the school office tomorrow on 01442 211963.

If your child is not eligible to come into school they will be able to learn remotely and we will now begin using eSchools.  If you have mislaid your child's log in please please call the school office tomorrow to familiarise yourself with it.

Stationery packs to enable home learning will be available from outside the front entrance from tomorrow morning after 9am. We will provide further information about eBooks in the coming days.

Thank you for your support and understanding. As a team we hope that all of your families remain safe and well.

We are sad to find ourselves in this situation again and hope for the day when we are back in school. We will keep in contact via the class emails, eSchools and weekly newsletters.

Take care,

Nicola O'Connell Headteacher
